Who's got the strongest arm in Picayune?
The hardest bat in Hattiesburg?
The fastest wheels in the state?

There's only one way to find out.

01 / The Events

Three events.
No excuses.

Five throws, five swings, three sprints. We keep your best. Every number is measured with real equipment and posted the same day.

01

Throw

Pitch Velocity

Flat ground, your style. Crow-hop, run-and-gun, whatever gets it there fastest. A radar gun clocks the ball out of your hand in miles per hour.

Hit

Exit Velocity

Square it up. We measure how fast the ball comes off your bat. Off a tee, so everybody gets the same pitch.

Run

40-Yard Dash

The speed test everybody knows. Laser timing gates start the clock when you move and stop it when you cross.

⇧

Vertical Jump

The best single test of total-body power. Official tiebreaker. Easy to improve: just jump more.

✊

Grip Strength

Strong hands make the bat lighter and the ball faster at release. Measured with a hand dynamometer.

⚡

Reaction Time

How fast you break on a signal. Sensor-timed first step, the same skill as getting a jump on a steal.

🎯

10-Yard Split

Captured during your 40. Shows your first-step burst, the speed that beats out ground balls.

📈

Consistency

How close your attempts are to each other. Big-game players repeat.

🎥

Mechanics Video

High-speed slow-mo of your throw, swing, and sprint, with notes from a coach.

02 / The THR Score

One number.
Every skill.

One kid throws gas. Another one rakes. Another one flies. The THR Score puts all three on the same scale so everybody competes for one ranking, fairly, inside your own age group.

1

Every event scores 0 to 1,000 points

Each age division has a Floor (0 points) and an Elite mark (1,000 points). Where your number lands between them is your points. A 10U arm isn't compared to a 14U arm.

2

Points are weighted

Throw 35% Hit 35% Run 30%

Arm and bat carry a little more weight than speed because they show up on every play.

3

Add them up: that's your THR Score

0.35 × Throw + 0.35 × Hit + 0.30 × Run

Ties go to the higher vertical jump, then the best single event.

      07 / FAQ

      Questions?

      Who can compete?

Players ages 8 to 14. Your division is based on your age on May 1 of the season, the same cutoff most travel ball organizations use. You don't need to be on a travel team to compete individually.

How is it fair if I'm younger than other kids?

You only compete against your own age division. Each division has its own Floor and Elite marks, so a great 9U throw scores just as many points as a great 14U throw.

Do I throw off a mound?

No. Everybody throws from flat ground, and you can throw however you want: crow-hop, step-and-throw, anything. A radar gun clocks the ball out of your hand in miles per hour. You get five throws and we keep your fastest.

Can I use my own bat?

Yes. Any bat legal for your league. Hitting is off a tee so every player sees the exact same ball.

What if I do better at the next combine?

Compete as often as you want. Your season-best THR Score is what counts for Regional qualifying.

      What should I bring?

Glove, bat, helmet, cleats or turf shoes, and water. We supply balls, radar, sensors, and timing gates.
